I have this (Jason) case too, but haven't flown with it yet did you switch because it's to big for the airlines? those dudes at Jason promised me it wouldn't be an oversized item on most US airlines when checked, but I'm dubious of this claim???
I've flown with this case with no issue. It is an odd size case but not oversize. You'll have to pay extra on most domestic airlines if it's over 50lbs but shouldn't have any issue getting it on the plane as a checked item
