Hi Is there anyone here who has tried to trigger a Canon 5Ds? The cables supplied MoVI and therefore can be triggered from MoVI controller is all with jack-plug. This camera connector looks a little different ...
Yes, but not with the MōVI...I use the RC radio receiver channel using a method that's detailed here, although I'm using a Futaba, not a Spektrum. The technique is similar, though. http://forum.freeflysystems.com/index.php?threads/spare-channel-output.2417/#post-35412 I use one of these cables: http://www.rcshutter.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=20&product_id=75
Oh Jesus. I use the MoVI controller. Does I really need en extra RT for triggering af DSLR? I thought Freefly made the MoVI for such cameras to take photos ....
Do you want to trigger for stills or video? The universal start/stop by freefly should take care of stills since you just need to short 2 pins. You will have to wire up the flying leads cable in the kit. Cheers,
Both would be nice, since it's the same button, but mostly for stills. Oh så I shall take wires/connectors apart, buy the Canon cennector and solder it together? Sounds like Freefly should start producing a new connection....
As you can see here http://forum.freeflysystems.com/index.php?threads/triggering-a-canon-dslr.7991/ I'm a bit further, but have not reached a solid solution. I can not trigger it with the universal trigger cable that comes with MoVI. When I use a LANC cable on my Wedge, I can take pictures if I in FIZ Confik set it to "ARRI RS" or "RED ONE" . So I hold down the red button, and then the camera focuses and takes a picture. I can not get the camera to start recording a video ....? Is there anyone who can help me here?
I'm not sure about the 5Ds, but when I hooked a remote trigger to 5diii via my spektrum controller I had to change 2 things in the menu. One was disable the action of "half press" of my shutter button (I didn't want it re-focusing every time.) The setting was in the "custom configuration" section of the menu on my 5Diii. I also had to change the mode of my shutter button to start/stop video instead of taking a picture. Hope this helps a little.
