Trevor welcome to the forum. Would you be kind enough to change your user name to your real first name and last name, please? The reasons for this (and how to do it) are explained here: http://forum.freeflysystems.com/index.php?threads/real-names.497/.
In the U.K. it seems the industry has settled on a price point. Movi M10 on its own is renting for £250/day (often with a smallHD monitor.) Which is the price we have settled on as well at dizzyfinch - http://dizzyfinchstudio.co.uk/lighting-hire/ Some Movi operators are charging as little as £250/day. We've decided not to go lower than £400
Sorry but I don´t charge a daily rate lower than a steadicam and that is around €1250 with operator. All the rest is extra...Paralinx, easy rig, monitors etc... and if it is for aerial use I charge more. SInce I got the Movi always charged the same and I rent it for 30 days all together.
Hi Augusto, hi Bevan, I'm more in the line with you Augusto, but if you see the websites of the uk rental houses, Bevan is correct with the rates. I can also rent out the Movi for your price point, but these times come to an end pretty soon. As long as they only rent the Movi and a technician we will see a price point at around 700€ + extras. In your position as experienced op, there will still be a higher price, cause you doing a lot more than balancing and switching. But there are still a lot of people out there who don't get the point of good pricing structure. Many still think, that they hire you in first point when you go cheap and you could raise prices later. Doesn't work that way. But ruins the market. And it will increase, when competition products at a much lower price enter the market. Best markus
